Jenn Ortega

Billing Manager
(she/her)

A woman with long dark hair, wearing a cream-colored t-shirt and dark jeans, sitting on a beige sofa, smiling in a cozy living room with built-in shelves and decorative items in the background.

Jenn is the Billing Manager of Nido Individual & Family Therapy, assisting clients with all financial needs, including Good Faith Estimates (GFEs), Super Bills for insurance reimbursement, and supporting the process of navigating through the financial aspects of accessing care.

Jenn began her career in the medical field in 2005 and has held many positions which include a Certified Medical Assistant (both clinical and clerical), a Chiropractic Assistant, and eventually grew into management and has run many private practices. She came into the world of mental health in 2020 and found her forever home. Now, Jenn runs her own business, Billing by Jenn, LLC, providing billing and administrative support.

While Nido Individual & Family Therapy does not directly bill insurance, Jenn provides emailed Super Bills, which are simplified receipts of service, for submission to insurance for potential reimbursements. Many of our clients receive 50-85% of their session fees reimbursed to them when utilizing this method. Additionally, Jenn has assisted clients in advocating for PPO plans to reimburse entire session fees minus the co-pay.

As complicated and stressful as it can be to independently contact insurance, Jenn is available to be a direct support to clients in this process. She is an incredible asset to all of us with her many years of experience and valuable knowledge.

She has made the billing process much easier for clients by providing step by step instructions, conducting three-way calls with clients and their insurance, and offering availability by text, phone, and email.

Additionally, if you need assistance with payment, Jenn can discuss payment plan options with you.

While Jenn is deeply passionate about healing, she’s also profoundly dedicated to helping the millions of people affected by addiction. This calling led her to become a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT) in 2021 to assist in the fight against substance use disorder.

When she is not working, Jenn lives for her dogs, “Brown,” “Black,” and “Mr. Walter White,” and spends as much time in her home state of Alaska as she can. She is an avid hiker and enjoys being outdoors with her pups!
